How to Unlock your iPhone with AT&T

I’m about to sell my iPhone and to get the most bang for my buck,  I’ll unlock it first.  To get started, you would need an iPhone that is no longer in contract. Then go to https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/client/en_US/

They require some information about the account holder of your plan and you can do this for your current phone (not in contract) or a phone you had previously.  They will need your IMEI Number which is found by going to Settings > General > About. Scroll down until you see your 15-digit IMEI number.

After submitting the form, you should receive their response to confirm almost immediately which you need to click to start the process.  After about 24 hours, you will receive a second email providing you the process to unlock your phone.

The process is as follows, connect your iPhone to iTunes and click “Restore IPhone.”  After that you will see this screen:
